Overview 
Peter has operated his own actuarial consulting business since 1994. He specialises in health insurance and has advised many health funds on matters such as product design and pricing, capital management and strategic opportunities. His clients also include other financial institutions and service providers interested in insurance and financing issues and opportunities in Australia. 
From 1989 to 1993, Peter was a founding director of Trowbridge Consulting, where he played a leading role in establishing the firm's health insurance, life insurance and superannuation practices in Australia and in developing the Woodrow Milliman network, an international association of actuarial consulting firms in more than 20 countries. 
From 1985 to 1989, Peter was a Vice President in the international actuarial consulting firm Tillinghast, where he established the health insurance practice and assisted the development of the life insurance practice of the firm in Australia.  
From 1970 to 1985, Peter was a full time academic in the School of Economic and Financial Studies at Macquarie University in Sydney. His earlier career was with the consulting firm Bacon & Woodrow in London from 1967 to 1969, and in the Treasury Department in New Zealand from 1962 to 1967. 
Peter was elected to the governing Council of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia from 1994 to 1997, and to the governing Council of Macquarie University in 1975 to 1976 and in 1980 to 1981. He has held numerous university, professional and government appointments, and is currently the "Actuary in Residence" at Macquarie University. 
Peter became a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries in London in 1969 and a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia in 1982. He is a graduate in economics and philosophy, with university prizes in mathematics, money and finance and industry economics, and has more than 40 actuarial and professional publications.
